Foreclosure Defense
When homeowners default on mortgage payments, at some point,
the lender begins foreclosure proceedings. In Florida,
foreclosures have to be done through the courts, so the lender
initiates a lawsuit against the homeowner and anyone else who
might have any interest in the property (e.g. homeowner's
association, spouse, tenants).
Loan Modifications
The concept of modification has received a lot of attention over
the past year and a half. The Obama administration created a
program known as Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP),
which has helped many of our clients. It may depend on the
person you talk to as to whether the program has been a success
overall but, from our point of view, the program has been very
useful in helping our clients find a long-term solution to their
situation.
